A Visa is required for traveling to Bhutan by all foreign nationals except that of Indian, Bangladeshis and Maldivian nationals. No foreign missions will grant a Bhutanese tourist visa. All the visas are issued at Thimphu only; Passport details along with a clear passport scan copies should be emailed at least one months prior to date of travel. Visa applications are accepted for processing by the Tourism Council of Bhutan only on receipt of the full tour payment. The Visa approval process takes about 7 working days. On approval we will email you a copy of the approved visa and the actual visa is stamped on arrival at Paro international airport. Visitors entering Bhutan via Druk air have to present a copy of visa clearence letter at the time of check in, to be allowed to board the aircraft. Visas are only issued to tourists booked with a local licensed tour operator, directly or through a foreign travel agent.
Starting from 1st January 2013 as per the Department of Immigration's Rules and Regulation 2012, Annexure III the revised Visa Fee for tourist will be as follows and also refer Tourism Council of Bhutan Secretariat letter No. TCB/SD-32/12/3456 dated 06th December 2012.

Bhutan Dhenzang Travel's Cancellation Policy.
1.The tour & trek booked and subsequently cancelled will be subject to cancellation charges as follows:
- Within 30 days or more before the arrival date in Bhutan – 10% of the rate.
- Within 15 days before the arrival date in Bhutan – 50 % of the rate.
- Within 10 days before the arrival date in Bhutan – 85 % of the rate.
- Less than 07 days or without notice – 100 % of the rate.
- After arrival in Bhutan – 100%.
- An administration fee of USD 50/- will be applicable for all cancelled tours, once we issue the VISA.
2. Druk Air's Cancellation Policy.
Druk air tickets once bought will be subject to cancellation charges as follows:
- 100 % refund permitted for the tickets cancelled more than 35 days from the date of travel.
- 50 % refund permitted for the tickets cancelled within 25 days from the date of travel.
- Cancellation made less than 15 days from the date of travel, no refund.
- No cancellation charges will apply on infant fares.
- An administration fee of USD 45/- per ticket will be applicable for all cancelled tickets, once we issue the tickets.
3. Delayed Arrival or Departure
There is no charge for delays in arrival and departure because of weather conditions disrupting flights or roadblocks. The tourist must however bear the cost of food, accommodation, transportation, and other services required.
4. Travel Insurance
The Royal Government of Bhutan's minimum set package tariff do not include any Travel Insurance. It is imperative that tourists have full comprehensive insurance cover to protect against unforeseen accidents and helicopter evacuation, transportation and medical assistance in case of treks.
Note: INR (Indian Rupees) denominations of 500 and 1000 are not accepted in Bhutan.
